Breakthrough with Confidence

Series Introduction
Every breakthrough begins with God’s blueprint.
Throughout this series we have discovered biblical principles for overcoming obstacles and moving into God’s purpose for our lives.
In Part 1, Drawing the Line, we learned three foundational principles:
- Alignment with God’s will
- Attention to God’s voice
- Approval from God rather than people
In Part 2, Work Through It, we learned that breakthrough requires:
- Doing the work
- Working God’s way
- Working through fear
Today we conclude the series by focusing on one final principle:
Breakthrough requires confidence—not confidence in ourselves, but confidence in Jesus Christ.

“Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house. For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house. For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.”

Sermon Introduction
As the writer of Hebrews continues comparing Jesus to Moses, he reminds believers that Jesus is greater because He is both the Apostle sent by God and the High Priest who represents us before God.
Just as Moses faithfully fulfilled his assignment, Jesus faithfully completed His mission.
Likewise, every believer has a divine calling.
God desires for us to remain faithful until our breakthrough comes.
1. Breakthrough with Your Calling
Scripture
“Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house.”
Hebrews 3:1–2 (NKJV)
The writer reminds us that we are partakers of a heavenly calling.
Just as Jesus and Moses were faithful to their assignments, we are called to remain faithful to ours.
Every believer has been called by God.
Some are called to preach.
Some are called to teach.
Some are called to serve.
Some are called to lead.
But every Christian is called to represent Christ.
God Has Called Us To:
- Salvation
- The Body of Christ
- Be His witnesses
- Come out of darkness
- Live holy lives
- Be lights in the world
- Serve others
- Reflect His righteousness
- Fulfill a divine purpose
Throughout Scripture we see faithful people who fulfilled their calling:
- Abraham trusted God’s promises.
- Moses led Israel out of slavery.
- Jesus faithfully endured the cross for our salvation.
Faithfulness always precedes breakthrough.
Do not allow success, comfort, or worldly distractions to pull you away from God’s calling.
Remain faithful.
Reflection Questions
- Do I know the calling God has placed on my life?
- Am I more committed to my career than my calling?
- What distractions threaten my faithfulness to God?
Personal Challenge
Spend time this week thanking God for your calling. Ask Him to strengthen your commitment to faithfully serve Him wherever He has placed you.
2. Breakthrough for God’s Glory
Scripture
“For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house. For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God.”
Hebrews 3:3–4 (NKJV)
Moses was one of Israel’s greatest leaders.
He delivered God’s people.
He received God’s Law.
He led Israel through the wilderness.
Yet Hebrews reminds us that Jesus deserves even greater glory.
Why?
Because everything Moses did pointed toward Jesus.
Throughout the Old Testament, God was revealing Christ.
Jesus is seen:
- In Creation.
- In the covering of Adam and Eve.
- In Noah’s Ark.
- As Abraham’s substitute sacrifice.
- In Joseph’s suffering and exaltation.
- As the Passover Lamb.
- As the Rock in the wilderness.
- As the Manna from heaven.
- In Boaz the Kinsman-Redeemer.
- In Isaiah’s vision of the exalted King.
- And throughout countless prophecies and symbols.
Everything points to Christ.
Likewise, our breakthroughs should point others to Him.

Every breakthrough becomes another testimony of God’s faithfulness.
Whether God blesses your:
- Health
- Family
- Education
- Career
- Finances
- Relationships
- Ministry
The ultimate purpose is that Christ receives the glory.
Reflection Questions
- If God answered my greatest prayer today, would I give Him the glory?
- Does my testimony point people toward Jesus or toward me?
- How has God already used my life to glorify Himself?

Share one testimony this week about something God has done in your life. Let your breakthrough become someone else’s encouragement.
3. Breakthrough with Confidence
Scripture
“And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant… but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.”
Hebrews 3:5–6 (NKJV)
Believers are now part of Christ’s household.
Because we belong to Him, we can live with confidence.
Not confidence in ourselves.
Confidence in Christ.
Pastor Manuel shared how, when he published his first book, he struggled with insecurity.
Some people purchased the book simply to support him.
At first, that discouraged him.
Later, pastors testified that the book had transformed their preaching, was being taught in associations, and was even cited in doctoral research.
The lesson:
Do not place your confidence in yourself.
Place your confidence in what God is doing through you.
Supporting Scripture
Philippians 3:3–14 (NKJV)
Paul teaches that every earthly accomplishment is worthless compared to knowing Jesus Christ.
True confidence is not based on:
- Education
- Status
- Wealth
- Talent
- Position
True confidence rests in Christ alone.
Because of Jesus we can confidently say:
- I’m confident in my salvation.
- I’m confident God hears my prayers.
- I’m confident He will never leave me.
- I’m confident He is ordering my steps.
- I’m confident no weapon formed against me shall prosper.
- I’m confident nothing can separate me from the love of God.
Our confidence rests in the finished work of Christ:
- He healed the sick.
- He raised the dead.
- He died for our sins.
- He rose victorious over death.
- He now reigns forever.
That is why believers can face every challenge with confidence.
Reflection Questions
- Where have I been placing my confidence—in myself or in Christ?
- What insecurities do I need to surrender to God?
- How has God proven His faithfulness in my life before?
Personal Challenge
Every morning this week declare one truth about Christ instead of one fear about yourself.
Choose confidence in Christ over confidence in circumstances.
Living the Blueprint
Throughout this series, God has given us a practical blueprint for breakthrough:
Draw the Line
- Align your life with God.
- Give Him your attention.
- Seek His approval.
Work Through It
- Do the work.
- Work God’s way.
- Work through fear.
Breakthrough with Confidence
- Stay faithful to your calling.
- Live for God’s glory.
- Place your confidence completely in Jesus Christ.
When we follow God’s blueprint, breakthrough becomes possible—not because of our strength, but because of His power.
Weekly Application
Ask yourself:
- Am I faithfully living out God’s calling?
- Does my life bring glory to Jesus?
- Is my confidence rooted in Christ or in myself?
Pray each day:
“Lord, help me stay faithful to my calling, glorify You in every breakthrough, and place my confidence completely in Jesus Christ.”
Conclusion
Jesus is the perfect example of faithfulness.
He remained faithful to His calling.
He lived for the Father’s glory.
He confidently completed His mission.
Because He finished His work…
We can trust Him with ours.
When obstacles arise…
When fear appears…
When doubt creeps in…
Remember who Christ is.
He is:
- Our Apostle.
- Our High Priest.
- Our Savior.
- Our Lord.
As Pastor Manuel declared throughout this message:
“I’m confident!”
Confident in Christ.
Confident in His promises.
Confident in His power.
Confident that the God who began a good work in us will bring it to completion.
Invitation
God created you and loves you, but sin separates us from Him. Because of His great love, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and rise again so that we might have eternal life.
The Bible says that if we confess Jesus as Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved.
If you have never trusted Christ, pray:
“God, thank You for creating me and loving me. I confess that I have sinned against You. I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again. I confess Jesus as Lord of my life and Savior of my soul. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me follow You every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
