Series Reminder

This series teaches us how God unlocks joy through generosity.

  • Week 1: The Key of Surrender
  • Week 2: The Key of Faithfulness
  • Week 3: The Key of Hospitality
  • Week 4: The Key of Cheerfulness
  • Week 5: The Key of Supply

God does not call us to give without providing what we need.

Sermon Big Idea

God supplies what you need so you can take part in His work.
Your generosity is never disconnected from His provision.

Sermon Point 1: God Supplies for Good Works

Scripture:
2 Corinthians 9:8 (NKJV)

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you…that you may have an abundance for every good work.”

Teaching Notes

God responds to cheerful generosity with grace.
Grace here means God’s provision for living and serving.

Paul says God gives:

  • Sufficiency for daily life
  • Resources for good works
  • Capacity to keep serving without running dry

God supplies so you can participate in what He is doing.

We are saved with purpose.

Supporting Scripture:
Ephesians 2:8–10 (NKJV)

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works…”

God never assigns work without providing support.

Reflection Questions

  • What good work has God placed in front of you right now?
  • Where do you fear you will run out if you give?
  • How does knowing God supplies change how you see generosity?

Sermon Point 2: God Supplies Through the Righteous

Scripture:
2 Corinthians 9:9 (NKJV)
Psalm 112:9 (NKJV)

“He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.”

Teaching Notes

Paul quotes Psalm 112 to remind the church who God uses.

God works through people He has declared righteous.
That righteousness is given through Jesus Christ.

Supporting Scripture:
2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV)

“That we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

You did not earn this status.
God placed it on you through faith.

Because God calls you righteous, He trusts you to carry His generosity into the world.

When the righteous serve, communities feel it.

Supporting Scripture:
Proverbs 11:10 (NKJV)

“When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices…”

Reflection Questions

  • Do you struggle to see yourself as someone God can use?
  • How does knowing God calls you righteous affect your confidence?
  • Where might God want to work through you for the good of others?

Sermon Point 3: God Supplies for the Sower

Scripture:
2 Corinthians 9:10–11 (NKJV)

“Now may He who supplies seed to the sower…supply and multiply the seed you have sown…”

Teaching Notes

God supplies seed to people willing to sow.

A sower understands:

  • What you give is not lost
  • God multiplies what you place in His hands
  • Results often exceed what you imagined

God increases:

  • The seed you sow
  • The fruit of your righteousness
  • The impact of your obedience

You may not see the full outcome.
God still gives the increase.

Reflection Questions

  • What seed has God already placed in your hands?
  • Where have you seen God stretch a small act of generosity?
  • What keeps you from sowing more freely?

Sermon Point 4: God Supplies for His Glory

Scripture:
2 Corinthians 9:12–15 (NKJV)

“This service…is abounding through many thanksgivings to God…Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”

Teaching Notes

Generosity does more than meet needs.

It leads people to:

  • Thank God
  • Praise God
  • Pray for others

When believers live what they confess, God receives glory.

Your generosity points people back to Him.

God receives the praise.
You receive the blessing.

Reflection Questions

  • Who thanked God because someone helped you?
  • How might your generosity lead others to worship?
  • What kind of witness do your actions give?

Key Takeaways

  • God supplies for every good work He assigns
  • God works through people He has made righteous
  • God multiplies what sowers release
  • God receives glory through generous lives

Closing Thought

God never runs out.
What you place in His hands carries more weight than you imagine. If generosity feels hard, begin with trust.
God is faithful to supply what He asks you to give.
